The Norwegian Coach
We have taken posession of a new coach which is proving to have quite a history! It appears it was blown up during an air raid in Norway in 1940 Rebuilt in 1941 and again in 1967. During the air raid the first American casualty of the war was encountered. He was sheltering in a tunnel watching the air raid unfold but one bomb got too close. It seems like it was the same bomb that got our coach! We are currently trying to put together as much of the history as we can on it which we hope to collate into a book in the near future.
We are about to launch a “sponsor a seat” campaign to raise the funds for the conversion of the coach. £100 per seat and 29 seats in total should go some way to pay for the restoration work. Also Forth has been transferred to KFRPS from the Strathspey. So we will be looking at another refurbishment soon too and subsequent fund raising!
We look forward to seeing you all at Kirkland. Look out for details of the 2015 itinerary.
